Exploration of Mount Anipahan and Mount Kiamo

Exploration of Mount Anipahan and Mount Kiamo
This 25 minute documentary follows on from the first ascent of Schomcarp Peak and the discovery of Nepenthes leonardoi to continue the search for further new species of spectacular pitcher plants.

In this film, we follow Stewart McPherson's efforts to explore two remote peaks, Mount Anipahan on Palawan, and Mount Kiamo on Mindanao. During these journeys, an incompletely diagnosed taxon (possible new species) is discovered on Mount Anipahan, and two spectacular new species are encountered on Mount Kiamo (later named N. ceciliae and N. pulchra are found).

A full account of the discovery of N. ceciliae and N. pulchra and eleven other new Nepenthes species is provided in Redfern’s latest book title New Nepenthes, Volume One.
